Bell Ringer: Friday

Fraction Friday! We were in the middle of the fraction unit in my grade 6 class so I decided to do this bell ringer on Friday. I love making our bell work relevant to what were learning in the classroom's it builds connections, makes content relevant for students and serves a review. This bell ringer is perfect  for problem solving, and when you incorporate questions like this, students think of it more as a puzzle than a math problem and really tend to enjoy them -  especially when they notice that they are able to make connections to their math work and feel that the classroom content is relevant and their work has payed off!
